Anonymous asked: I’ve seen you helping other writers by giving them crit and was wondering if you’d do the same for me? Does it matter what fandom it is? Or the characters?

Sure! I’m more than happy to give you critique. It doesn’t matter about fandom, but if it’s an unfamiliar fandom for me I may not be able to give much about how well the character fits with their meant-to-be selves.

Basic Structures
All stories follow a structure. The most basic of all narrative structures can be represented by a hill. Start with the orientation; take your time to set the scene and introduce your characters. Then, comes the gradual rise of tension. This will build up to your climax or anti-climax; the peak of your story. From here then comes the gradual resolution followed by a conclusion.
Of course, this is only one of many structures a story can follow but if you’re just starting out or feel the desire to write something simple and well structured, this model is the one to follow.

Anonymous asked: Umm sorry, never got it :/

I’m sorry, got what? Your review?

I apologise…

I am sorry for being away. I will get around to posting more tips and things eventually. For now though I’m a bit busy with, you know, life. If there’s anything in particular you want tips for, feel free to send me over a message and I’ll get around to it…eventually.

Once again, really sorry about this!

To that anon which requested a review…

I’ve emailed you. If you haven’t received it please let me know so I can try again!

Anonymous asked: Hello~ I was wondering if you could help me with something. It's not the first time I write a fic, but I've never written anything with a serious tone. If the themes in the fic are implied death, implied sex and perhaps even depression, (again, it's implied, nothing graphic), how should I rate it? As a PG, (or PG 15-16) or straight to Mature/NC-17? Also, what's the difference between NC17 & R? Thank you for your time

I believe you received an answer from asianfanficsthing’s blog already. I’m sorry for not answering sooner, I’ve just been swamped with work.

for those who are also wondering the same thing, here’s a link to the very helpful answer. LINK

Anonymous asked: Hello, I just wondered if you could review some of my short stories for me :) The comments I get for them are always like "wow it's so cute" and don't tell me what I could do better. So if you have free time I could send you the link. PS: I really love your blog, it's really helpful :)

Thankyou, I’m glad it helps!

As for your short stories, I’ll be happy to read through them. I’m a little busy at the moment though, and won’t be able to offer much. I’ll do by best to criticise your work fairly though.

Abuse is no joke. If you’re planning to write about it you must consider the consequences. How will it affect your character? How will it affect everyone around your character? How does it shape your story? One does not simply ‘get over’ abuse if it happens, remember that before you flippantly include it in a story. It is a serious matter. It should not be taken lightly.
